ABOUT GEMS BY GREGORY LLC
OUR MISSION IS TO DELIVER QUALITY PRODUCTS AT AFFORDABLE PRICES
Gems by Gregory LLC has been in existence since 1990. Since 2016, it was decided to have all of our gems cut here in America’s Historic Triangle in Virginia. Of note we have recently revisited and updated our business model. Our intent is to always cut gems to precise angles using the best color and clarity available at any given time. What may not be readily apparent is that we are not a volume producer but rather take extra time to insure that you will always receive from Gems by Gregory a lovely gem cut not with haste in mind but with care to insure that your gem is cut correctly.
All rough is personally inspected by me to insure the customer receives the best value in fine cut gems. If the clarity or color is not up to our strict requirements, it is returned. Only then is the rough cut into finished gems. All of our beautifully cut gems, with the exception of diamonds, are cut here in America’s Historic Triangle in Virginia only by Gems by Gregory. We never sub-contract the cutting of our gems to another country or company!
Our decision to cut all gems in Virginia has resulted in our controlling all aspects of the cutting process and accordingly you are offered beautiful finished gems cut to exact angles and proportions. This allows us to offer finished faceted (also cabochons for opals, etc.) gems that we cut either for inventory or custom cut for your needs at no extra cost. However, as we control all aspects of cutting your gem, the price per gem remains very affordable.
We also offer a large selection of GIA certified diamonds in all shapes & sizes. They are purchased already cut by highly trained craftsmen.
Thank you and Happy Holidays to one and all. December 2023.

GEMS CUT IN VIRGINIA
Meet Greg Russell
Hello, I’m Greg Russell. I’ve been cutting and inspecting gems for more than thirty five years.
My training for this field was the completion of courses offered by Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and I am a GIA alumni. I also have a certificate for Advanced Stone Setting by The New Approach School for Jewelers.
I maintain a contemporary knowledge of the industry by routinely attending seminars, conferences, and gem fairs worldwide. I’m also constantly interfacing with my peers, suppliers, and experts in various fields within gemology. One of the fascinating aspects of the wonderful field of gemology is that there is always something new to learn.
