Well in a couple of days I leave for the 2020 gem and mineral forums in Tucson, AZ. Am I excited? Absolutely and I hope that kid in me never goes away. I mean joining up with old friends and acquaintances, attending seminars on gems and gemology, seeing what new rough is available, picturing in your mind what will be cut from that rough, the prospect of discovering and working with new suppliers, haggling (just a little) over prices…what is not exciting about that all that?
In preparation for my trip, I have been removing from our web site some existing inventory, repricing others, adding some new, preforming rough in house (my shoulder joint replacement this past year set me back from the cutting as I had planned) so that upon my return I can move directly into cutting. In addition to offering cut gems, we will also be expanding our inventory of various gem rough. But more on that later.
